Peruvian company launches with two Amazon vessels

Ucamara Amazon Expeditions, a Peruvian company launched in 2013, launched the six-passenger Acacia in 2013 and is introducing the 12-passenger Cattleya this spring.

Both vessels will navigate the Peruvian Amazon through the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve for three-, four- and seven-night river cruises.

The Acacia features three cabins, all with wooden bunk beds, bedside tables, air conditioning, en suite bathrooms with showers, safe deposit boxes and a minibar. The vessel also features a dining room and indoor lounge.

The Cattleya, scheduled to launch in April, will have six cabins, all with king-size beds, air conditioning and en suite bathrooms with showers. The vessel will also have an observation deck, dining room, indoor lounge and boutique.

Three-night cruises begin at $2,100 per person, based on double occupancy.
